Carter’s High Chair – Unboxing and Review

Carter’s High Chair – Unboxing and Review

From the beginning Carter has been a GOOD eater! He had no problem letting you know when he was hungry from day one. So at his 4 month checkup when our pediatrician asked if we thought he was ready to start cereal, the answer from my husband and I was a resounding “Yes!”

Being the new parents we are we went to Target that day and purchased Gerber Oatmeal cereal, bowls and munchkin spoons. We were ready for this new adventure…or so we thought! We have a bumbo seat with the tray. I thought it would be no problem feeding him in the bumbo. Then we fed him for the first time. He couldn’t sit up well in the bumbo, there was nothing to really support his head or to keep him from looking all over the place. So just picture trying to hold the side of his head up with one hand and chase his mouth with the spoon with the other hand. If you would like to see this firsthand, check out our video Baby’s First Food. Needless to say we discovered quickly that we needed a highchair!

So one thing you should know about us (and by us, I mean my husband) is that we don’t buy anything without doing our research. After much reading, looking and searching we decided the Graco TableFit Highchair
would fit our needs the best. You can check out our unboxing and assembly video to see how easily is goes together. It seems to be sturdy and well made. It is easy to get Carter in and out of, even with the snack tray attached. After about a month of use we have quickly discovered that it wipes down very easily. One thing we liked about this high chair is that you could fold it up and store it out of the way when not in use. We are quickly outgrowing our house so we needed something that was not going to be in our way at all times. The tray snaps out and is dishwasher safe which is a great feature for messy little eaters (aka all babies). One thing to mention is the first time I washed the tray in the dishwasher it came out slightly warped. It still snaps on and does not seem to really interfere with the function of the tray. This chair is perfect for our little families needs so far.

When we place carter in the chair, he seems to fit comfortably and safely in the seat
. A quick snap of the 5 point harness buckles and he is secure and ready for some grub.

Feeding him is so much easier now than it was before. We highly recommend you check this one out if you’re in the market for a new high chair
or an upgrade to your old one. Don’t delay, with Amazon prime you can have your baby seated comfortably in the chair within just a couple days with free shipping! Grab one

UPDATE:  After a few weeks use, we have 2 tidbits of new information.  1. The levers that you click with your hands to unfold the chair make a little louder popping sound when you click them than they did originally.  The mechanism seems to work just as well with no issues, just a louder sound when you click it so don’t be alarmed if yours does this.  2. I discovered that you can open it with one hand by placing your foot on the bottom back bar at the floor, clicking one side lever and pushing out a little and the chair
will open right up and lock into an open position.   This is super convenient when you’re holding your baby and trying to get him seated for meal time.
